Can’t stand Glenn Beck? Yeah, I don’t like him either. But I suppose that’s beside the point…
There are a few of us who will be writing on this blog, and you can count on seeing something about the Beckster occasionally. Our aim is to write about the world, about society, about culture… and every now and then we’ll rant about monsters people who make us queasy. We’ll talk about justice and injustice. We’ll give our opinions and analyses of current events. Sometimes we’ll just put our hopes for the world out there. We’ll have debates back and forth between democrats and republicans, maybe with communists (if we can find any…). Don’t be surprised to see some angry tirades when the republicans (or the democrats, I suppose) announce a new bill they’ll try to pass or when President Obama appeases the right. Don’t run away just yet – not all the blogs are going to be related to politics. We want to be a source of information and knowledge, maybe even a source of humor every so often. And of course we’ll throw in random blogs regarding other areas of interest; expect a few (maybe gloating) blogs declaring the Yankees champions of the world…
The point is, we hope to open your eyes. We don’t think the media (ahem, FOX..) is doing enough to seek the truth and to show people what is really going on in the world. We want discussion, we want debate, we want answers. We want to change the way people think. We hope this blog will get people thinking, and, ideally, acting. We can’t keep living in ignorance. We need to be responsible and make changes in the world. As Voltaire said, "every man is guilty of all the good he didn’t do." This blog will be, hopefully, a tool to help build more thoughtful, more involved people. And hopefully we'll get in a few really good one-liners about Sarah Palin (kidding…sorta).
